1. About Placemently
Placemently is a technology recruitment and training agency that provides career training, professional development, certification preparation, practical project experience and employment support to individuals seeking to enter or progress within the technology sector.
Our Employment-ship model combines training with recruitment and employment support.
The purpose of an Employment-ship is to help participants become job-ready and introduce suitable participants to hiring partners and employment opportunities.
Placemently may work with third-party employers, recruitment partners, training providers, certification bodies and other organisations in delivering its services.
2. Definitions
In these Terms:
- "Placemently", "we", "us" or "our" means Placemently.
- "You", "your" or "participant" means the individual applying for or participating in an Employment-ship.
- "Employment-ship" means the relevant Placemently training and employment-support pathway selected by you and accepted by Placemently.
- "Programme" means the specific Employment-ship in which you are enrolled.
- "Hiring Partner" means an employer, recruitment company or other organisation that is recruiting for a role for which Placemently may introduce suitable participants.
- "Employment" means paid employment or another paid working arrangement offered by a Hiring Partner or employer following Placemently's recruitment and introduction process.
- "Employment Fee" means the one-time £2,400 fee payable for an Employment-ship in accordance with these Terms.
3. Applying for an Employment-ship
Applications may be submitted through the Placemently website, by telephone, through an advisor or through another application method made available by Placemently.
Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee acceptance onto an Employment-ship.
Placemently may assess your background, objectives, availability, suitability and ability to participate in the relevant programme before confirming your place.
We may contact you to discuss your application and recommend a programme based on the information you provide.
You are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied to Placemently is accurate, complete and up to date.
4. Eligibility
Placemently Employment-ships are designed to accommodate individuals from a range of educational and professional backgrounds.
Unless a particular programme states otherwise, prior professional technology experience or a university degree is not required.
However, you must have the ability and willingness to:
- Participate in the training
- Complete the required learning activities
- Complete practical projects and assessments
- Follow reasonable programme requirements
- Attend or participate in recruitment activities
- Provide accurate information
- Communicate with Placemently and prospective employers
- Act professionally throughout the recruitment process
Certain roles or Hiring Partners may have additional eligibility, right-to-work, security, background-check, qualification or experience requirements.
5. What is included
The exact content of each Employment-ship depends on the programme selected.
An Employment-ship may include:
- Structured online training
- Training materials and learning resources
- Certification preparation
- Certification or examination support where specified
- Practical projects
- Portfolio development
- Mentoring and guidance
- CV development
- Interview preparation
- Technical interview preparation
- Employment guidance
- Introductions to suitable Hiring Partners
- Recruitment and job-search support
The specific programme page and information provided to you before enrolment will determine the particular training, certifications, programme duration and support included in your Employment-ship.
6. Training delivery
Training is generally delivered online.
Programme schedules, learning platforms, modules, assessments, project requirements and support arrangements may vary between Employment-ships.
Placemently may update or improve training materials, platforms, modules and delivery methods where reasonably necessary.
You are responsible for having suitable access to the internet and an appropriate device unless Placemently expressly states otherwise.
7. Certification
Where a programme includes preparation for an external certification, the relevant certification remains subject to the rules, requirements and examination procedures of the relevant certification provider.
Placemently does not guarantee that you will pass an external examination.
Where examination fees, retake fees or other third-party charges are not expressly stated as included in your programme, you may be responsible for those costs.
Certification names, examination requirements and available certification pathways may change over time.
8. Your responsibilities
To receive the full benefit of your Employment-ship, you agree to:
- Complete your training within the required timeframe
- Complete assignments, projects and assessments
- Participate in mentoring and support activities
- Provide requested information and documentation
- Maintain an accurate CV and candidate profile
- Respond to Placemently communications within a reasonable period
- Attend scheduled interviews and recruitment activities

- Behave professionally when dealing with Placemently and Hiring Partners
- Inform Placemently promptly of any material change affecting your ability to participate or accept employment
You must not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, employment history, right to work or other information provided to Placemently or a Hiring Partner.
9. Becoming job-ready
Placemently's employment support is based on your progress through the relevant Employment-ship.
Placemently may determine when you are sufficiently prepared to be introduced to particular opportunities.
Being introduced to a vacancy does not mean that you are guaranteed an interview or employment.
You may be required to complete specified training, projects, assessments or other requirements before being introduced to certain Hiring Partners.
10. Employment and Hiring Partners
Placemently works with employers and other recruitment partners to identify employment opportunities.
Where Placemently considers you suitable for an opportunity, we may introduce you to the relevant Hiring Partner.
The Hiring Partner is responsible for its own recruitment decisions.
Placemently does not control the final recruitment decision of a Hiring Partner.
A Hiring Partner may decide not to interview, shortlist or employ a candidate.
You acknowledge that employment opportunities may vary according to:
- Employer requirements
- Candidate suitability
- Location
- Right-to-work requirements
- Background checks
- Security requirements
- Interview performance
- Market conditions
- Available vacancies
- Other employer-specific criteria
11. Employment outcome
Placemently's Employment-ship is designed around helping you obtain paid employment.
However, no specific employer, job title, salary, location, working pattern or employment duration is guaranteed unless expressly confirmed to you in writing.
Salary figures displayed on the Placemently website are indicative or typical ranges and should not be interpreted as a guaranteed salary offer.
Any employment offer will be subject to the terms offered by the relevant employer.
Placemently is not the employer unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
12. The £2,400 Employment Fee
The Employment Fee for an Employment-ship is £2,400.
The Employment Fee is a one-time payment and is the total fee for the Employment-ship.
Funding may be available to help cover the cost.
Before you commit to an Employment-ship, Placemently will explain the applicable payment arrangement to you.
Unless separately agreed in writing, no recurring monthly subscription or ongoing Employment Fee is payable.
13. What constitutes secured employment
For the purposes of these Terms, employment may be considered secured where:
- Placemently has introduced you to an employer or Hiring Partner;
- The employer or Hiring Partner has offered you paid employment or another qualifying paid working arrangement; and
- You have accepted the opportunity or otherwise entered into an arrangement to commence paid work.
The precise circumstances in which an Employment Fee becomes payable may also be set out in your programme-specific enrolment or participation agreement.
You must not deliberately avoid, delay or circumvent the payment obligation by dealing directly with a Hiring Partner introduced to you by Placemently.
14. Declining or withdrawing from employment
If Placemently introduces you to a suitable employment opportunity and you decline the opportunity without reasonable grounds, fail to attend the recruitment process, deliberately withdraw from the process or otherwise prevent the opportunity from progressing, Placemently may review whether the Employment Fee has become payable.
Placemently will consider the circumstances of each case fairly and in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any statutory rights you may have.
15. Employment obtained independently
If, during your Employment-ship, you independently obtain employment that is unrelated to a Placemently introduction, the Employment Fee will not automatically become payable solely because you obtained employment.
However, you must notify Placemently of your employment status where reasonably requested so that your programme and employment-support arrangements can be appropriately updated.
16. Hiring Partner employment terms
Your employment relationship is with the relevant employer or Hiring Partner.
The employer is responsible for:
- Your employment contract
- Salary
- Working hours
- Benefits
- Holiday entitlement
- Workplace policies
- Performance management
- Other employment terms
Placemently does not become responsible for those matters merely because it introduced you to the employer.
17. No guarantee of continued employment
Placemently cannot guarantee that employment secured through a Hiring Partner will continue for any particular period.
Employment may be affected by probationary periods, performance, redundancy, business requirements, restructuring, employer decisions or other circumstances outside Placemently's control.
The Employment Fee is based on the employment outcome described in these Terms and is not a guarantee of lifetime employment.
18. Programme changes
Placemently may reasonably update or modify programme content, training materials, certification pathways, schedules, platforms, mentors, Hiring Partners and delivery methods.
We will endeavour to ensure that any material changes do not substantially reduce the core service you have agreed to receive.
19. Suspension or termination
Placemently may suspend or terminate your participation where you:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Fail to meet reasonable programme requirements
- Repeatedly fail to communicate with Placemently
- Fail to complete required training without reasonable explanation
- Behave abusively, threateningly or unlawfully towards staff, trainers, Hiring Partners or other participants
- Attempt to misuse Placemently systems or materials
- Otherwise materially breach these Terms
Where appropriate, Placemently may give you an opportunity to remedy a breach before terminating your participation.
20. Cancellation and consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or override any rights you have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
Where you have a statutory right to cancel, withdraw or obtain a refund, that right will apply in accordance with the applicable law and the circumstances of your agreement with Placemently.
Any additional cancellation terms applicable to your particular Employment-ship will be provided to you before or at the point of enrolment where required.
21. Intellectual property
All Placemently training materials, written materials, videos, documents, systems, software, branding, designs and other content supplied by Placemently remain the property of Placemently or its relevant licensors unless otherwise stated.
You may use programme materials for your own personal learning and participation in the Employment-ship.
You must not:
- Reproduce or redistribute paid or restricted materials
- Sell or commercially exploit programme materials
- Share account credentials
- Upload materials publicly without permission
- Copy substantial portions of proprietary training content
- Provide programme materials to third parties
You retain ownership of original work you independently create, subject to any third-party intellectual property rights and any specific terms relating to programme projects.
22. Candidate information and recruitment profiles
You authorise Placemently to use information you provide for the purposes of delivering the Employment-ship and providing recruitment and employment-support services.
This may include sharing relevant candidate information with Hiring Partners where reasonably necessary to assess you for employment opportunities.
We will handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection legislation.
23. Privacy
Placemently collects and processes personal information in connection with applications, training, recruitment, employment support, communications and administration.
Our processing of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
By applying for an Employment-ship, you acknowledge that your information may need to be processed and, where appropriate, shared with prospective employers and recruitment partners for legitimate recruitment purposes.
24. Website and platform use
You must use the Placemently website, learning platform and any associated systems lawfully and responsibly.
You must not attempt to:
- Gain unauthorised access
- Interfere with platform security
- Introduce malicious software
- Copy or scrape restricted content
- Share account credentials
- Use the platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes
Placemently may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect its systems, users or business.
25. Availability of the website and platforms
We aim to keep our website and online systems available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
Systems may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, technical problems, security issues, third-party services or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
26. Third-party services
Placemently may use third-party platforms, certification providers, recruitment systems, learning systems, payment providers and other services.
Where you use a third-party service, that service may be subject to its own terms and privacy policies.
Placemently is not responsible for matters arising solely from the operation of third-party services outside our reasonable control.
27. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Subject to that, Placemently will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from matters outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms guarantees a particular career outcome, salary, employer, promotion, employment duration or future career progression.
28. Events outside our control
Placemently will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances reasonably outside our control, including major technical failures, cyber incidents, changes in law or regulation, industrial action, natural disasters, government action, significant market disruption or changes in employer recruitment requirements.
29. Complaints
If you have a complaint about an Employment-ship or our services, please contact Placemently using the contact details published on our website.
We will review complaints fairly and aim to resolve them within a reasonable period.
30. Changes to these Terms
Placemently may update these Terms from time to time.
The latest version will be published on the Placemently website with the relevant update date.
Where a change materially affects an existing participant's contractual rights or obligations, we will provide any notice required by applicable law.
31. No waiver
If Placemently does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean that Placemently has waived its right to enforce that provision in the future.
32. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
33. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with any programme-specific agreement, enrolment information, Privacy Policy and other documents expressly incorporated into the agreement between you and Placemently, form the agreement governing your participation in the relevant Employment-ship.
Where there is a conflict between these Terms and a specific written agreement provided to you for your Employment-ship, the specific agreement will apply to the extent of the conflict.
34. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the relevant Placemently agreement and, where applicable, the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction to resolve disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer rights or jurisdictional protections that apply to you.
